PicsTools is built on a client-side architecture. All media processing—including video compression, image conversion, screen recording, and audio extraction—occurs directly inside your web browser via WebAssembly (WASM), HTML5 Canvas, and WebCodecs. Your files, videos, and images are never uploaded to, stored on, or inspected by our servers.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect names, passwords, credit card numbers, or file contents. There are no user accounts, logins, or server-side databases attached to PicsTools.

3. Third-Party Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)

To keep PicsTools 100% free with unlimited access, we display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense and its partners:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to PicsTools and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or AboutAds.info.

4. Local Storage

PicsTools may utilize browser localStorage solely to save non-identifiable user interface preferences, such as your selected dark or light mode theme and cached WebAssembly engine files for faster subsequent page loads.
